There is no scientific data that says any particular amount is optimal and, by FDA guidelines, no one can say that any amount of CBD will cure, help or treat any health condition.
But, here’s what can be shared. Consider two things: your weight and the severity of your condition. The bigger you are, the more CBD one typically has to take. And, the more severe the situation, the more CBD one typically has to take.
The following chart may help in determining a “STARTING POINT” of how much you might want to take per day initially. Again, there is no scientific statement as to what is right, the following is a “best practices” guideline put together for your help:

The approach we recommend is to begin taking a particular amount twice a day for the first 3-4 days to build it up in your system and so you can truly see what it’s doing. After this amount of time, increase or decrease the amount you’re taking based on the results you’re seeing.
Increasing the dose will not always give a better result. An animal study published back in 1990 found that low to moderate CBD doses reduced anxiety, but CBD’s anti-anxiety effect disappeared at higher doses. Importantly, the authors note an inverted-U response to CBD. Out of the four doses tested, the lowest dose had a moderate anti-anxiety effect, the second-lowest dose had the greatest anti-anxiety effect, the third dose had a moderate effect, and the highest dose had no effect.
Here are some examples of dosing calculations:
1) If you want to take 15mg per day and your product has 0.83mg per drop, you would take 18 drops per day or 9 drops morning and night. (18 x 0.83 = 15mg)
2) If you want to take 15mg per day and your product has 2.5mg per drop, you would take 6 drops per day or 3 drops morning and night. (6 x 2.5 = 15mg)
3) If you want to take 15mg per day and your product has 4mg per drop, you would take 4 drops per day or 2 drops morning and night. (4 x 4 = 16mg)
Canntica is sourced from the ONLY large scale, fully vertically integrated, US based, 100% federally legal producer and distributor of the highest quality medicinal hemp in the United States.
What sets Canntica apart from “hemp oil hustlers”, begins with our proprietary medicinal cannabis strain. Our proprietary strain is a hybrid AC/DC x Cannatonic x (another naturally high CBD strain), all of which are known for their medicinal value. The cross-breeding of this naturally high CBD/low THC strain took place over a seven year period, and was done in order to reduce the amount of naturally occurring THC down to a level that classified it as “industrial hemp” (less than .3%) .
While everyone else was cross-breeding their strains to increase the level of THC, we had the foresight to do the complete opposite! Canntica is a zero THC full-spectrum oil. We achieve this through a process that allows us to identify the naturally occurring THC and separate it out completely, instantly, while leaving intact the other synergistic components of the oil.
NOT ALL HEMP IS CREATED EQUAL …
Industrial hemp is genetically inferior to medicinal hemp, yet it is defined the same way by the regulatory agencies. Many brands/companies/legal counsel who still believe that hemp-derived CBD must come from overseas to be “fully legal” are not taking into consideration the 2014 US Farm Bill section 7606 which created for the first time since 1937, a Federally legal pathway to growing “industrial hemp” once again on American soil. Our supplier conforms entirely to section 7606 of the 2014 Farm Bill and our “medicinal hemp” strain is registered with the Colorado State Department of Agriculture as “industrial hemp”.
As demand for CBD continues to grow, so too will the synthetic forms of CBD crystalline isolate coming out of China and Eastern Europe. CBD buyers need to be cautious when purchasing CBD from overseas, as much of it contains heavy metals, toxins, and/or mysterious chemicals. True quality control can only be guaranteed if all aspects of the supply chain and manufacturing is vertically-integrated.
We are supplied from the largest, most reliable, most consistent, and most dependable source of the highest grade “medicinal hemp” naturally rich in CBD, along with a full spectrum of cannabinoids and terpenes all working synergistically to provide true medical benefits. Industrial hemp CBD oil from China and Europe, is being flooded into the US market and touted as an effective CBD product, but it is not.
This is troubling. Almost all hemp is a “bioaccumulator” ie, it has an extraordinary ability to absorb toxins from polluted soils—it’s a natural soil remediator. After the 1988 Chernobyl nuclear reactor meltdown, hemp was planted around the contaminated disaster site for exactly that reason.
Oils extracted from plants grown near soils contaminated by pesticides or industrial effluents may contain those impurities in concentrated amounts. In today’s CBD market, manufacturers are under no obligation to tell consumers where their hemp was grown or to test it for contaminants.
The good news is that the special strain of medicinal cannabis used to produce Canntica is NOT a bioaccumulator!
If you are looking for a reliable, dependable, and consistent source of the highest quality, Federally legal, non-GMO, American Made “medicinal hemp” CBD using organic farming methods, then Canntica is your best choice.

Generally, CBD oil can be stored at room temperature, out of direct sunlight although refrigerated or frozen is best, especially once the bottle has been opened. The shelf life for Canntica is two years if refrigerated or frozen.
The main ingredient is pure cannabidiol (CBD) oil plus carrier oil MCT (Brain Octane Oil), a very healthy extract of coconut oil. These are used to adjust the content of CBD oil to the required concentration. There are no other ingredients.
These drug tests are looking solely for THC, the component in cannabis that gets you ‘high’. Since Canntica contains zero THC, it shouldn’t be picked up in a drug test. Having said that, if you take very high doses of CBD (over 1000mg per day!) there is the possibility of a false positive in a urine drug test (which aren’t very accurate) but once the confirming blood test is done, the result should come back as negative.
CBD may help to decrease appetite. A study conducted on mice by researchers at the NIH’s National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism seems to show that obesity can be caused by an imbalance of cannabinoids in the body and CBD may be a promising treatment to correct the problem.
Let’s first point out that taste is highly subjective. So, what tastes good to one, may not taste good to another. Secondly, let’s point out that people don’t typically take CBD oil because they’re hungry and they want some good tasting food. They’re taking it for some degree of well-being and most people who have had their life changed by CBD Oil couldn’t care less how it tastes.
Now, on to the flavour. At the base of the product is a plant extract from hemp. And, just like most herbal extracts and bitters, this extract doesn’t taste so good, generally speaking. This is why many manufacturers have infused the sticky, gooey extract into bottles of carrier oils for drops. This reformulated version of CBD oil typically tastes better than the straight extract. So, in comparison, yes, these products taste good when compared to the straight extract. But, they all will still have some degree of “plant” or hempiness to them.
Hemp seed oil can be made from the seeds of any plant in the cannabis family, but is primarily derived from hemp. The seeds themselves contain as much as 50% of their weight in oil, which is easily extracted. For the most part, these seeds are used for their nutritional value rather than for profound health benefits.
The seeds themselves contain very little CBD—not nearly enough to take advantage of its health inducing properties. Likewise, the seeds only contain trace amounts of THC, making them useless for anyone looking to get high. And unlike CBD oil, hemp seed oil has a strong nutritional value, as it is high in polyunsaturated fats like Omega-6 and Omega-3 fatty acids, as well as Vitamin E.
Because of this profile and its low amount of saturated fats in comparison to other oils, hemp seed oil has found a spot in many kitchens around the world. It can have a nutty to grassy flavour depending on how it’s refined, and high quality brands can be used for salad dressing and cooking.
The underlying difference between the two products is that one (CBD oil) is medicinal and the other (hemp seed oil) is much cheaper and an ingredient used for both cooking and manufacturing. Knowing the difference ensures that patients and health enthusiasts are getting the best possible product for their specific needs.
