UK Man, 32, who uses CBD says it’s helped to shrink his brain tumour

A man diagnosed with a brain tumour said he would rather be “illegally alive than legally dead” after calling for cannabis to be legalised for medical use.

Phil James, 32 from Oakenholt, has taken CBD, found in cannabis, for two years, and hasn’t had a seizure since last March, after previously suffering one every six to eight weeks.

He was diagnosed with a grade three Anaplastic Astrocytoma (brain tumour) at the end of 2015.

A drug derived from cannabis reduces certain epilepsy patients’ risk of a fit by nearly 50 per cent, new research shows.

Auckland - Cannabidiol can be prescribed without ministerial approval from today, even though none of the cannabidiol products on the New Zealand market are approved for distribution.
